Are We the Place For You? Ravalli Head Start (Hamilton, MT) is seeking an Executive Director to succeed our long-serving Executive Director who plans to retire December 31, 2023. Ravalli Head Start has locations in three communities in Western Montana: Hamilton, Missoula, and Stevensville. We provide home-based and center-based services for prenatal, infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten students. Our mission is to serve children and Families so they succeed in school and life! We are headquartered in Hamilton, the county seat of Ravalli County, and just south of Missoula a short distance (47 miles) along the beautiful Bitterroot mountains and river. Hamilton is the valley’s largest community and offers theater, live music, local breweries, golf, fly fishing, a vibrant downtown, as well as easy access to hiking, backpacking, and skiing. Missoula is the home of the University of Montana and a thriving arts community; it is often referred to as the “cultural center of Montana.” Is This the Career For You? This position will report to an engaged volunteer board of directors composed of community leaders, parents, and partners. Our Executive Director will be excited about making an impact on our children, families, staff and community. They will bring innovative ideas for programming, funding, and staff development. They will have a strong commitment to the Head Start mission of promoting school readiness of young children from low income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development and will ensure all qualifications required by 45 CFR §1302.91 are met. We recognize that our success will depend upon our Executive Director’s ability to work together with staff, local community, and state, regional and national systems and officials; therefore, excellent communication skills, management experience, and the ability to motivate our team members is crucial.
