Celebrate Head Start Awareness Month this October

During the month of October, we celebrate the commitment, passion and history of Head Start.

Since the program began in 1965, millions of lives have been set on a course for life-long success by being a part of Head Start programs across the country. Local Head Start programs operate in all of Oregon's 36 counties, offering educational, social, emotional and behavioral development support to children and their families in all parts of the state. This year, Governor Kotek officially proclaimed October as Head Start Awareness Month in Oregon.

We encourage you to join us in this celebration by sharing your Head Start stories of how this program has helped children and families in your community. Be sure to use the #HeadStartAwarenessMonth when you share on your Facebook page.

Let's keep making a positive difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children.
