Southern Oregon Head Start interview shines light on how program makes a difference for children and families

Sunrise Interview on KOBI-TV highlighted October as Head Start Awareness Month with an interview this morning with Amber Lease with the Southern Oregon Child & Family Council. During the interview, Lease shared the positive impact that Head Start programs have on both children and their families, thanks to their wholistic approach.

"Our goal as a program is to get our kiddos to a 90% rate where they're at their age level of language, math, literacy and social skills," said Lease. "The other big thing that we really hope to see out of our program is for our families to be able to feel empowered and kind of build those skills to be able to advocate for their children."
