Federal government shutdown puts Head Start programs at risk

As the federal government shutdown continues, thousands of Head Start programs are facing uncertainty.

Yesterday, Tommy Sheridan, Deputy Director of the National Head Start Association, joined Arielle Hixson on MSNBC Reports to discuss the real-world impact on children, families, and educators nationwide.

Each statistic represents real people—a child eager to learn, a teacher committed to their students, and a family relying on consistent care. If the shutdown continues into November, more than 65,000children could lose access to Head Start services. That means 140 programs across 41 states and Puerto Rico may be forced to close their doors.

Make your voice heard: Tell Congress to protect Head Start families.
